Soft Phone FAQ
What is it?
A Soft Phone or a software phone is simply a digital phone interface that allows you use your data connection instead of traditional phone line.
How do I access my Soft Phone?
Simply login in your portal on your MAC or PC (mic and speaker required), or download our APP to your smart device. We recommend both for convenience.
How do I use it?
Your portal and app will display options to make a call, view and create contacts, access voicemails, sms messages and make changes to your settings.
Can I record my own greeting?
Absolutely. You can record your own greeting through your app or portal. The app makes it very convenient because you can make changes on the go.
Can I set up call forwarding?
Yes, you can setup call forwarding through your management portal. You can see your settings in the soft phone but you cannot modify them on the soft phone directly.
Can I have multiple soft phones?
Yes, if you have several PC's or MAC's or additional smart devices you can download the app and login with the same credentials. If you have multiple numbers, you will need to login with the credentials for each phone number.
What happens if my computer and smart device are turned off?
If you are completely offline, you can setup different options on how your calls are handled. Typically a call will go to voicemail just like any traditional phone system but you may also forward calls to another number and etc if you are offline.
Can I use an IP phone with my soft phone?
Absolutely, our system allows for multiple devices to be used in conjunction. If you are bringing your own device please check with us to make sure it is compatible. You can purchase certified IP phones directly from us as well.
Can I just use soft phones for my company?
Yes you can. Many of our clients with office and field staff have completely done away with physical handset.
